MODULE DESCRIPTION
In this module we consider: Journalistic versus academic writing about art; Different formats, such as the exhibition review; the catalogue essay; the theoretical art essay/academic article on art; and the artist statement; Various interpretational vantage points such as the biographical, comparative, historical, contextual and theoretical frameworks; Decoloniality as a theoretical framework; and Feminism as a theoretical framework.

Target Audience: Art lovers or artists who want to learn how to write about art and want to understand the different styles, conventions and content required

There is much additional reading included in this module, which serves as examples of good quality writing about art.

The Applied Art History Short Course includes FIVE Modules. There is an Assignment for every Module but they are not compulsory.
