About the event
The Art History workshops introduce students to the discipline of Art History. They are suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Visual Arts or Art History, but also for anyone else interested in the theories and histories of Art.
The content of the workshops has been designed in such a way as to allow students to gain insight into the historical forces, ideas and events that shaped the art of today. The topics have applicability for contemporary thinking and art production.
In the workshops a thematic approach is followed and key subject areas are discussed that cut across arthistorical periods. Each topic is physically and visually presented via Powerpoint presentations and discussion. The workshops are interactive and invite critical discourse.
